Parents Aren't Seeing My Activities. What Can I Do?

Updated on September 19th, 2016 by

If you are looking at your home page and you take a look at the "Activities That Need Attention" section, you will see upcoming activities that may say something like "Only x people have seen it":

Should you notice this, be aware that many parents will review the information via email only, and when this happens, this window will not be updated to show that that parent has actually seen the notification. This number is only a reflection of how many parents have seen the activity or announcement here on ClassTag.  If you want to increase the chances that parents will view the post when they visit the ClassTag website, you can consider pinning the post so that parents will see it at the top of their screen when logged in.

About Email Filters

Alternatively, you may have a situation where parents aren't receiving your emails due to an email filter.  If your parents are having difficulty noticing your ClassTag emails because they end up in spam or another folder, ask them to add "team@classtag.com" as well as their teachers' email addresses to the safe senders list.

Important: When a teacher sends an announcement, it comes from the teacher's email address, so the teacher's email address needs to be included on the safe senders list.

Adding the sender to your Gmail contacts will help to ensure that the email makes it to your inbox.  Here's how:

  1.  Hover over the sender's name in your Gmail inbox.  A contact card will appear.
  2. On the contact card, click "Add to Contacts".
  3. For more about Gmail contacts and email filtering, see here.
