SchoolStatus Connect understands the teacher’s need to share something private with the parent. Maybe you want to share a photo or video with the parent, let the parent know about their child’s exam result, or ask the parent to have their child complete an exam. Great news! This is now possible using SchoolStatus Connect's Backpack.
The beauty of using SchoolStatus Connect's Backpack is that both teachers and parents can upload and share files. Please note that only the parents and the teachers in the class can view these files. It is not visible to other parents.
As a teacher, you can upload a file to your student’s backpack in two different ways:
Uploading via the Library
1. Click the drop-down and choose the correct class.
2. Click “Library” and click "Backpacks".
3. Look for the “Student’s Name” from the list and click on it.
4. Drag and drop the file OR click “Click here” and choose the file that you want to upload from your computer or mobile device.
7. Click “Save”.
8. The file is now saved in the Backpack and is available for the parent to view. You will also see any files that the parent has uploaded in this same location.
Uploading via the Directory
1. Click the drop-down and choose the correct class.
2. Go to “Directory” and click the student's name.
3. Click the backpack icon.
4. Drag and drop the file OR click “Click here” and choose the file that you want to upload from your computer or mobile device.
5. Click “Save”.
6. The file is now saved in the Backpack and is available for the parent to view. You will also see any files that the parent has uploaded in this same location.
How will I get notified if there are any new items uploaded by the parent?
If a parent adds a new file to their child's Backpack, a bell notification will show up on the "Library" and an “Upd” note will appear on the specific student’s backpack.
Once you click on the student's Backpack, the “new” will show up on the new file that was uploaded.
If you have the app downloaded on your mobile phone, you will also get notified by a push notification.
NOTES:
At the end of each hour (e.g., 4:59 pm, 5:59 pm), the system will also send an email notification with the list of unseen files added to the Student Backpacks.
The system won't send any SMS notifications for users who set their notification method to SMS.
You will also see a notification on the green bell icon on the upper left side of your home page.
