If you want to sync your School roster with ClassTag independent from your District, follow the instructions below.

ClassTag Connect allows independent School sync with ClassTag via SFTP. Once enabled, the sync will automatically run daily.

Please follow the steps below to get started.

1. Prepare an SFTP folder

In order to set up an automated SFTP sync, you need to have an SFTP folder to drop OneRoster-formatted CSV files. You can use a folder on your SFTP site. If you don’t have one, ClassTag support will be happy to create a folder for you on our server. Please reach out to our Support Team at support@classtag.com.

2. Send OneRoster CSV files to the SFTP folder

Please upload the following OneRoster files to the SFTP folder:

If it is easier for you to upload a ZIP archive with OneRoster CSV files, that’s also supported. ClassTag will automatically extract the necessary files before processing.

Please double-check your files and make sure that you’re not oversharing data with ClassTag.

3. Update existing ClassTag classrooms

You can sync existing Classrooms with OneRoster Classrooms. Please click here to see other options or how to sync the Classrooms.

4. Modify sync settings

You can adjust the sync settings to share targeted data from OneRoster. Please click here to see more information.

5. Self-Check

Please review everything again and make sure everything is set up as you want it to. Open this article to know more about what else you have to check and consider before enabling the sync.

6. Enable and launch the sync

Enable the sync and save settings when you’re ready. Please click here to see how.

7. Check the sync results.

After the sync is complete, please check the sync reports or verify that staff, students, classrooms, and parents/guardians are added to the District and School Directories and Classroom pages.

8. Merge Duplicated Students.

If you chose not to archive all students before the sync, there will most likely be duplicates. To merge them, please follow the steps in this article.

You are all set! Please do not hesitate to reach out to our Support Team at support@classtag.com if you experience any issues with these steps.
